Duisburg. Ridvan is going to become an industrial service specialist and is doing his training at Lobbe in Duisburg. Since the beginning of April, the 18-year-old has been the focus of a campaign by the NRW Ministry of Labour. "In three years, he will be a world-class trainee" is how the ministry advertises the dual training system. Ridvan is featured on posters and in detail on the internet. World-class training with world-class technology, spectacular Ridvan photo in front of an impressively staged backdrop at the chemical company Inovyn in Rheinberg. The Ministry of Labour is investing a total of 750,000 euros in the campaign conceived by HAVAS Worldwide, which is supported by 100,000 euros from the North Rhine-Westphalian Chambers of Industry and Commerce. Four world-class apprenticeship occupations will be presented in the first step of the campaign, with two more to follow in the summer.
"We are very proud that we are giving the campaign the face of the industrial service specialist with one of our trainees," says Dr Reinhard Eisermann, Managing Director of Lobbe Industrieservice. Young people like Ridvan belong to the target group that needs to be addressed precisely from the company's point of view. "We have to attract the attention of tomorrow's workforce today," says Eisermann, who sees the campaign as a great incentive to multiply the message himself. Internationally, dual training is held in high esteem by German companies. "Because it is practice-oriented, promotes talents of young people especially in this field. Theory remains important, but is not principally at the forefront of vocational training."

"With the campaign, we are showing how unique and appealing the apprenticeship profession is in our country," said NRW Labour Minister Rainer Schmelzer at the launch of the campaign in Düsseldorf. The campaign is intended to address young people, parents and companies alike with the clear message that dual vocational training is a high-quality alternative to university studies.
