knew my father Gustav Edelhoff, who, as a city employee, saw the dirty streets of Iserlohn every day. With a lot of courage and entrepreneurial spirit, he bought the sweeper from the city and developed a better roller to make his city cleaner. This marked the beginning of the private waste disposal industry in Germany - and the history of our company. With his systematic approach and innovative ideas, my father became the pioneer of an entire industry. As the inventor of the modern waste garbage can, he shaped the way we still dispose of our waste today. His aspirations and pioneering spirit are still at the heart of LOBBE and our vision today:

Gustav Edelhoff founds EDELHOFF Städtereinigung.

Gustav Dieter Edelhoff joins his father's business.

On the initiative of Gustav Edelhoff, 41 private waste management companies found the "Verband privater Städtereiniger" (VPS e.V.) in Offenbach, the forerunner of today's BDE.

After two years of development and testing, the MGB240 is introduced in Letmathe/Iserlohn and remains the standard for waste collection worldwide to this day.

13.05.1986

EDELHOFF presents the forward-looking M.S.T.S. logistics, which includes trucks optimised for disposal and improved collection containers for one-man operation.

VEW acquires a 51% majority shareholding in EDELHOFF AG.

April 1993

1993

Official entry of the Edelhoff family into LOBBE.

LOBBE begins development of the prototype vertical milling machine, which can already consolidate 1,000t of material per day.

1996

January 2001

Heike Edelhoff and Gustav Edelhoff take over the management of LOBBE Holding.

In September, takeover of RWE Umwelt Westfalen (formerly EDELHOFF) and renaming as LOBBE Entsorgung.

In August, takeover of the company Kluge Umweltschutz GmbH & Co. KG in Duisburg.

In January takeover MIDI industrial cleaning.

2006

Strategic realignment of the LOBBE Group into the two core areas of Waste Management and Industrial Services.

Introduction of the "Remote Lance Worker" (RLW) for safe cleaning work with high-pressure water.

2013

January 2015

Commissioning of the new sorting plant in Sümmern/Iserlohn, at that time Europe's most modern plant of its kind.

Completion of the refurbishment work at the Völklingen Ironworks World Cultural Heritage Site.

2016

January 2018

Commissioning of the MEILO sorting plant near Gernsheim in cooperation with Meinhardt Städtereinigung.

Introduction of the "Robotized Lance Frame" (RLF) for tube bundle cleaning in heat exchangers.

2019

Takeover of the family business Stratmann Städtereinigung.
