With two soil remediation systems and a vacuum thermal for very highly polluted soil, we offer market-adapted capacities with appropriate intermediate storage for soil treatment. A sophisticated microbiological remediation process is available especially for soils contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons.
Soil remediation centres in Hagen and Spremberg
The Lobbe soil remediation centres accept contaminated soils from acute damage and planned renovation projects. Apart from contaminated soils, other biologically treatable waste such as sludge from oil wells can be accepted.
In addition, mechanical-biological pre-treatment can be performed on certain waste prior to its deposit on a TASi-compliant landfill. This also includes sand trap residues. Other Lobbe services include, for example, the transport from construction sites, including excavation and loading, creating all regulatory and statutory waste evidence, as well as biological and chemical analysis of the material.
Vacuum thermal for extremely contaminated soil
The vacuum thermal plant on the premises at the Lobbe Recyclingpark Rositz (county Altenburg) is one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. It was specially designed for the treatment of highly contaminated soils. Expelled substances are – regardless of the level of contamination – recovered in a purity of up to more than 98 percent.
While the first stage of the plant conventionally heats the material to 120 degrees Celsius, in the second stage it operates at temperatures of 220 to 270 degrees Celsius, and a vacuum of up to 10 mbar. In the second stage, the substances are completely evaporated, and then condensed and collected in special containers.
Soil vapour extraction for on-site activities
In cases of contamination with gasoline, chlorinated hydrocarbons, e.g. “Tri” and “Per”, or other volatile pollutants, the use of soil vapour extraction is especially indicated if contamination foci are difficult to access in the ground, and the soil is not to be removed for external remediation.
All necessary system components can be installed on site at short notice. The contaminated extracted air is purified, generally by means of catalytic afterburning or activated carbon. Which technique is used depends on the type of pollutant and its concentration.
