Lobbe takes over the activities of Schenker
Lobbe expands its presence in Bavaria
Iserlohn. The family-owned company Lobbe, a leading provider of environmental and industrial services
in Germany, is expanding its environmental services division into Bavaria for the first time. With the
takeover of the Schenker company near Munich, the company is opening up one of the most dynamic
economic regions in Germany and laying the foundations for further growth.
With the takeover of Schenker Industrie + Städtereinigungs-GmbH in Hohenkammer, Lobbe acquires a company that serves almost the same business areas in the environmental services sector and is therefore an ideal addition. Founded in 1978, the company employs around 60 people and achieves an annual turnover of approximately €15 million.
The 95,000 square meter site with a large number of recycling facilities is ideally located logistically and strategically for further growth. Thomas Schenker and Lobbe Managing Director Christian Meret will take over the management of Schenker in the future. This will ensure stability, continuity and further development. Gustav Henrik Edelhoff, Lobbe shareholder of the 4th generation, will also be regularly on site in Hohenkammer in the coming months.
"With Lobbe, we have a strong family business at our side that will lead our life's work into the future. For our employees and customers, the merger means security and prospects.
Together with Lobbe, we can further develop our location. At the same time, we know that Lobbe shares our values as a fair market player. What is particularly important to us is that two successful family businesses are now becoming one - Schenker and Lobbe are growing together. This creates proximity, reliability and additional strength for the future," says Thomas Schenker.
Gustav Henrik Edelhoff, shareholder of the Lobbe Group: "Bavaria is a key market for us with great potential for the future
. With Schenker, we have found the ideal partner to expand our range of services and exploit synergies with our industrial services. We would like to thank the Schenker family for their trust in Lobbe.
Bavaria is a federal state with many traditional companies. We are very proud to be able to continue one of these companies with the takeover of Schenker and look forward to the further development of the business and successful cooperation. Our growing together will bring long-term benefits for customers, employees and the region."
