SEWER LEAK TESTING
Leak testing according to DIN
Environmental real estate audits require leak testing before the start of sewer rehabilitation. Leak testing is also a requirement before a newly constructed system goes on line. Lobbe tests using water or air in accordance with the rigid German standard (DIN 4033 or DIN EN 1610). Depending on the methodology, measurement readings are taken with pressure manometers, digital pressure sensors, or water columns.
Lobbe uses computer-controlled packers to leak-test in inaccessible areas. Hand-held test instruments are used in accessible areas. Lobbe also employs timesaving quick-check methodologies to leak-test drinking water lines and pressurized effluent conduit. Testing is done almost entirely in accordance with Germany's stringent DIN 4279 standard.

Sleeve and joint testing
Sleeves and joints are subjected to extreme mechanical and hydraulic pressures. Even when most of a conduit system is in excellent condition, leakage and seepage at joints and sleeves can occur. With pressure testing, TV inspection, and visual monitoring, Lobbe checks the condition of sleeves and joints. Controls of this type accurately determine the severity of leaks.
